HAVEN BEACH CLUB RULES AND REGULATIONS

MEMBERSHIP RULES

General Rules

  1. HBC is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to any individual’s personal property.

  2. No riding bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, and/or scooters on the porch or dock.

  3. Bicycles must be parked in the bicycle rack or in a space that does not obstruct the walkway.

  4. No flammable liquids are permitted in the locker area.

  5. No animals are permitted on HBC property.  Exceptions include service animals (protected under Title I and II of the ADA law) and leashed dogs being walked to a member’s boat.

  6. The use of inappropriate language or conduct unbecoming the standards of HBC, which may offend or endanger people and/or property, are not permitted.

  7. Per HBC policy, all members and activities shall adhere to applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances.

  8. Members and/or guests should notify management immediately of protected/regulated/injured wildlife on HBC property so they can act in accordance with New Jersey State and federal laws.  Members and/or guests are not to touch said wildlife.

  9. Each member will agree to and sign the “hold harmless” application statement that he/she, any member of his/her family or household, or guests of the member – shall hold HBC, Haven Beach Club, Inc, its Officers, its Trustees, its Manager and its employees harmless and waive any rights to indemnification and subrogation in the event that member suffers personal injury or loss of property while said property is located on HBC. 


Guest Privileges

Member houseguests are defined as LBI visitors who reside with a member during their stay.

  1. Pending payment of the applicable fee, members are allowed to bring houseguests to HBC as day guests or to participate in HBC events.

  2. Houseguests must be accompanied by the hosting HBC member while on Club property.

  3. Hosting members must ensure that their guest(s) adhere to HBC rules and regulations. 

  4. Member guests are not permitted to repeatedly use HBC facilities or attend events without the intent of becoming HBC members. Individuals flagrantly disregarding this policy will be contacted by HBC Officers and/or Board of Trustees for appropriate action.



Liquor/Alcohol Policy

  1. No member and/or guest is allowed to bring liquor/alcohol to HBC premises or property.

  2. Members with slips at HBC’s dock must transport alcohol to their boat in sealed containers.

  3. Consumption of alcohol not purchased through HBC is strictly prohibited from being consumed on the club’s property/docks.

  4. Fines will be imposed upon HBC members and/or their guest(s) who violate this policy.

    1. First Infraction: $500

    2. Second Infraction: $1000

    3. Third Infraction: Membership of the offender will be Terminated 

  5. Member infractions will be cumulative, documented, and written notification of fines incurred will be forwarded to said member.  

  6. Fines incurred will be applied to the member account.  If fines are not paid by December 31 of that year, regardless of infraction number, the membership of the offender will not be renewed.




POOL MANAGEMENT

Pool Rules


Please note that pool hours are subject to change at Management’s discretion. The pool is routinely closed during swim team practice, swim meets and for special events. 

  1. To ensure swimmer safety, lifeguards must always be obeyed. 

  2. When no lifeguards are on duty, the “swim at your own risk” sign is posted. HBC is not liable for injuries or damages to those who choose to swim.  Swimmers must employ ‘the buddy system’ and be in a group of three or more. 

  3. All members must sign the daily register before entering the pool.

  4. Members must sign in and pay the required daily guest fee before entering the pool area: $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child (ages 2-12). 

  5. Children are never to swim without parent or guardian supervision; adult supervision is required for children under age 12 (optional during swim instruction).  

  6. Swimmers are kindly asked to shower before entering the pool. 

  7. Appropriate attire required; use restroom areas to change. 

  8. Do not change babies or toddlers on the pool deck.

  9. Diving is prohibited in the shallow end of the pool, deep end diving only.

  10. Active play is prohibited on the pool deck; no running or roughhousing in or around the pool.

  11. Persons with open wounds are not permitted in the pool.

  12. Swim aids must be USCG approved; swim toys permitted with Manager/lifeguard permission.

  13. Swim Diaper policy: For children not potty trained or incontinent adults to enjoy the pool, the required swim diaper worn must be covered with plastic pants that include elastic bands at the legs and waist per NJ state and CDC recommendations.

  14. No food, gum, or drinks permitted immediately around the pool. 

No glass permitted, of any type, in the pool area or on the pool deck.

  • Health, Wellness & Fitness Swim: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM, M-F
  • Swim Lessons: 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon, M-F
  • Single Lane Open Swim: 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon, M-F
  • Open Swim: Noon - 4:00 PM, M-F
  • Swim Team: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, M-Th, 2-3 Lanes on Fri
  • Open Swim: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, M-F
  • Open Swim: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sat-Sun
*Lifeguards are on duty operating hours listed above.

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Clubhouse/Parking Lot Rules

  1. Children under age 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the clubhouse and/or the parking lot – particularly during social events.

  2. Active play is prohibited in the clubhouse and parking lot – this includes but is not limited to tag, running games or general roughhousing.

  3. Members are not allowed in the clubhouse kitchen without management approval.

  4. Food storage in HBC lockers is strictly prohibited.

  5. Members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves, their children and/or guests.

  6. Be mindful of shared space with fellow members when leaving belongings on furniture.

Boat/Kayak/SUP Storage, Dock, Beach, and No Wake Zone

Boat slip assignments are made at HBC Managers and/or Dockmaster discretion pending availability. Dock applicants must provide boat length and width, boat registration and proof of insurance. Be advised that slip assignments may vary from season to season.

  1. Boat slip subleases are prohibited; boat slips are solely designated for the paying member. 

  2. Boats, Kayaks, and SUPs must be placed in their assigned location. Management reserves the right to relocate any improperly stored items.   

  3. Boat slip modifications are prohibited without prior approval from the Officers and/or Board of Trustees (e.g. the addition of catwalks, ladders, etc.).

  4. Boats must be safely moored to prevent damage to dock or adjacent boats. Manager and/or Dockmaster are authorized to request mooring modifications. 

  5. Refusal to comply with mooring standards may result in suspension of docking privileges without reimbursement.

  6. Boat owners are responsible for protecting their boat in the event of an impending storm. HBC bears no responsibility for weather-related damage.

  7. Manager and/or dockmaster may inform owners should an issue arise with their docked boat.  Members are responsible for attending to the issue within 24 hours of notification.

  8. Manager and/or dockmaster are authorized to board a moored boat to prevent damage to the vessel or HBC property.  Management intervention will result in a member service fee.

  9. HBC is not liable for damage to or theft from owner boats or any gear onboard the boat.

  10. Excessive speed or reckless operation of any craft in our immediate “no wake” zone of 300 feet is prohibited.  Violations subject to suspension of docking or launching privileges without reimbursement.

  11. No swimming allowed in or near boat slips.

  12. No diving permitted off any part of the dock.  

  13. Miscellaneous items found between the sailboat racks and fence will be discarded.

  14. Boat and/or trailer storage is not permitted on HBC property.
